About Me

I love Jikiden Reiki for its simplicity, for the quality of the conceptual framework offered and for the insight it gives into the cultural and spiritual background Reiki has grown from. It is a privilege to be able to pass on this beautiful and effective healing system to you.

Gisela Stewart - Simply Jikiden Reiki

My Background

.

Thanks so much for finding out more about Jikiden Reiki and about me!

.

I’m Gisela Stewart, Jikiden Reiki Shihan and Jikiden Reiki practitioner of 10 years: a dedicated and highly committed advocate and bundle of enthusiasm for Reiki practice in its original, simple, elegant, grounded and practical Japanese form.  My business, Simply Jikiden Reiki, provides the vehicle for sharing authentic Japanese Reiki and my passion in life. It is also an official branch of the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto right here in Scotland!

.

I love introducing new people to the power of natural healing for body and mind. Through Jikiden Reiki treatments in my clinics, through teaching seminars in Edinburgh, in the Borders and wherever I’m invited to teach, and through public speaking.

.

I have been privileged to see this simple art of energy healing transform so many lives in my 10 years of practice, including my own! You can read my story here.

My Jikiden Reiki Training

.

.

All my training has been directly with Tadao Yamaguchi, the Head of the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto whose trainings I have attended annually since 2006.

.

I became the first fully qualified teacher in Scotland in 2009 and have been in the lucky position to organise Mr Yamaguchi’s courses in Edinburgh annually since 2011. Because of this experience, you can feel confident that I have a thorough understanding of Jikiden Reiki and pass on the teachings in their original, unaltered form. Trained in Western Reiki to Master level first, with Jikiden Reiki I have found depth of understanding, authentic knowledge and a complete healing system preserved in its integrity.

10 Years of Clinical Experience

.

.

After working from home for a while, I joined Tweed Chiropractic Clinic in 2009 introducing the Borders public to effective, treatment focused Japanese Reiki since the clinic first opened its doors.

.

In addition, I have joined Ladysmith Physiotherapy in Innerleithen in 2013 and since 2015, I have also been working from EH1 Therapies, a Counselling and Psychotherapy practice in Edinburgh.

.

As well as helping numerous clients in private practice in their recovery from stress, anxiety, depression, illness and injuries, or simply to improve their quality of life and rebuild their energy and zest for life, I have also enjoyed the opportunity of offering Reiki treatments for disabled clients via local Borders organisations for many years now.

Collaboration with Amanda Jayne

.

.

As a voluntary part of my teacher training, I have also organised regular Jikiden Reiki seminars in Scotland with Amanda Jayne, who learnt Jikiden Reiki from Chiyoko Yamaguchi. She spent 4 years studying with the Yamaguchis in Japan and helping out with teaching seminars internationally.  I first met her at a Jikiden Reiki seminar with Tadao Yamaguchi in Germany in 2006, and we have enjoyed working together ever since. Having prepared thoroughly for becoming a teacher in this way, I feel sure that I a have a good grasp of the conceptual framework in Jikiden Reiki and that I teach seminars in the same way as Tadao Yamaguchi does.
